FUERTEVENTURA Bird Watch is primarily a research project being undertaken to record the impact that the fast growing tourist industry, and the massive changes in the infrastructure is having on the indigenous bird species of this island and the migratory birds, some of which breed, and some that stop off on their migration passage north or south depending on the time of year.

The objectives of Fuerteventura Bird Watch are to obtain scientific data over a five year period.

The Fuerteventura Bird Watch research project will be fully registered and licensed with the Authorities of Fuerteventura, and will be fully conversant with the access restrictions and seasonal variations at all the recognised sites and over private land.
